Our Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children.

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development. Our teacher have been trained at the Music Together® head quarters in Princeton NJ. Each one brings a unique quality to the program and
plays a musical instrument, guitar or piano.

photo Kim Latiano, Director and Teacher

Director and teacher, Ms. Kim is one of the best & loved early childhood music teachers in Bergen Cty. Coming from a background as a professional singer working with the likes of Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Connie Francis, and Dick Clark, Kim has been performing with the 60s review "The Party Dolls" for over 20 years and teaching Music Together for over 14 years. I love that I am able to teach what I love the most and that is music. I try to connect and engage the kids by including them in the circle of continuous music. I love the way they respond to the program especially when they bring in their books to show me how they are using them at home! I have taken the program with my daughter, who is now 10,and am thrilled to see how she has grown musically in so many ways. She plays piano, sings, and belongs to a Dance Company that performs for many competitions. Also an honor roll student, which I truly believe is due to her learning how to retain many things easily, which I see the children learn in this wonderful program! Kim plays the guitar and was trained by the Center for Music & Young Children in Princeton and is a registered Music Together teacher.

Samantha has been singing an enjoying music her whole life.  She began acting and studying voice at a very young age.  Samantha graduated from Northeastern University where she studied education and was active in the arts.  She has been an elementary schoolteacher for the past nine years.  Samantha has taken some time off from teaching to raise her two children, Colin, and Charlotte.  When Samantha bean taking her children to Music Together classes she rediscovered her love of music and was inspired to become a Music Together teacher.  She is very excited to share her love of music with children and their families.

photo Nora Waldmann

Nora discovered her love and passion for music at the age of 6.  Her father, who is a musician and her former piano teacher, encouraged her to develop her voice and piano skills and to share with others by performing in front of people.  After she fell in love with jazz music, she took jazz vocal lessons at the "Consrvatory in Klagenfut" in Austria.  During an internship at a Kindergarten in the Netherlands (Rotterdam), she realized how much children benefit from music and how it helps to develop their fine and gross motor skills as wells as their creativitiy, social skills, emotional and language skills.  Not only that, but music also aids a child to develop their voice and to memorize and repeat tonal and rhythmical  patterns.

During this time, she discovered her love of working with children.  She lead parent-child music classes at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna after studying "Elementary Music Pedagogic", and in 2016 moved to New Jersey and had the chance to perform at the Manhatten Center in New York City.  Earlier this year, she went on tour in Korea and performed in front of thousands.  Nora was introduced to "Music Together" by her sister, who took classes at "Music Together of Bergen County".  She believes music influences a child's development in so many ways, and also strengthens the bond between parents and children.

We are thrilled to have her on board teaching with us this Spring!

photo Beth Coleman

Beth's love of music and the arts began very early.  At the age of 3 she would sing along to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs record while dressed in an apron, pretending to clean her brother's room.  She sang, played flute and cello in the school choir, band, and orchestra.  Formal piano, singing, and dancing lessons were part of the mix as well.  Her dance teacher asked her to begin teaching dance at the age of 15, and she instantly fell in love with teaching!

She has performed in community and dinner theaters and in a National Tour of Pinnochio.  She studied music at Westminster Choir College and under the direction of Joseph Flummerfelt with the Symphonic Choir, she performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony and even shared the stage with Luciano Pavarotti!  While teaching instrumental and general music in private and Montessori schools, she obtained her BFA at William Paterson University where she performed in Opera Workshops, and was featured as the soprano soloist in Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and sang the National Anthem at graduation.

Beth is a registered Music Together Teacher, and we are thrilled to have her share her experience and love of music with the children and their famiies!

Angela appeared in her first musical at the age of five, and has been on stages all over NJ and NYC ever since.  In addition to stage and emcee work, she is trained in clarinet, and has sung the National Anthem for the NJ Devils and Boston Red Sox.  She is currently the Vice President of Fair Lawn's non-profit Old Library Theatre, as well as a makeup artist for weddings and special events.  Her passion projects are completing an album of instructional children's music under the name "Angie Sings!" and launching a parenting blog of makeup tutorials called Motherhood Made Up.

In between acting jobs, she used to nanny, which is how she was lucky enough to first experience Music Together.  In 2011 she became a certified teacher, but has taken a few years off to teach privately to the two-and under crowd by having two children of her own!  She's excited to bring her creativity and endless energy to Clifton families.
